Choosing The Perfect Location For Your Senior Photos
Let me get right to the point, my friend. I understand. You want senior photos, but you’re overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.
- It’s your senior year and you want amazing photos…
- You waited to book a portrait session…
- If you had a do-over, you would’ve started the process earlier…
…but now you feel behind and lost. Sound about right?
I know this feeling all too well. I have some good news for you! You are NOT behind because I’m here to help you choose the perfect location for your senior photos.
That favorite place
Choose a location that is meaningful to you. This will help create incredible portraits that you will love for years. Like your favorite coffee shop, the beach where you sit down to read your favorite book, the place in town where you hang out with friends or the field where you made that spectacular play or where you cheer on the team!
Think about your personality
Think about your hobbies, interests, and favorite activities. Are you into music, do school activities, love to read? Choosing locations like a music store, book store or library, football field or even your school can serve as the perfect backdrop for a personalized senior portrait session.
Nature Lover
Have you dreamed of being photographed in a field of flowers or maybe on a beach with waves crashing around you? Nature can be found everywhere, you just have to pick the piece of nature that fits you. The options are endless, like your local field, the beach you love, that mountain covered in snow or even the side of the road can make amazing locations for one of a kind senior portraits.
Urban Location
If you are more of an urban kind of person, you can travel to “downtown”. If that is to far you can look for local city squares, brick walls or even the mall that can be used as backdrops for your senior photos. Alleys can be a great location for an urban shoot if shot at the right angles.
Consider your outfits
Your choice of outfits can help decide where to go for your senior portraits. If you see yourself in a formal dress with high heels, maybe you want to go with an urban location. If you want to wear a sun dress with sandals, then you should pick the beach or the lake. When what you wear is as important as the location of your senior photos, then choose a location that works all around.
STILL can’t decide?
If you’ve still can’t think of a perfect spot after reading this, I would love to help. I have helped some seniors come up with ideas that they loved. I even have some dream locations that I have written down that might fit us both. There are incredible spot everywhere just waiting for the right person.
